PRINTS / SHOP FAQ - 006
WHAT ARE PRINTS?
Prints are a high-quality reproduction of the original artwork.
The prints will be made using a Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) printer with archival pigments on EPSON Cold Press Bright White paper.
In other words, these prints are as close to the original as you’ll get and a fraction of the price.
Prints are an affordable way to allow a larger crowd to own a piece of my artwork.
The original artwork is not for sale at this time.
I WANT TO PURCHASE A PRINT, BUT THEY ARE SOLD OUT.
Prints will be sold primarily by pre-orders. After a pre-order period is closed out, I will place an order with the print shop. I may add extras to the order - the extra prints will be available in-store.
If you are a tattoo client interested in purchasing a print, any prints in stock will be available to buy in person, saving you shipping costs.
Keep an eye out on Instagram for available prints.
HOW DO PRE-ORDERS WORK?
A pre-order is an order placed for an item not currently in stock, which is shipped once available.
Pre-orders will be announced via Instagram (I will have a mailing list running shortly). Pre-orders will be open for one week. After the period closes, an order will be placed with the print shop. Depending on the order size, receiving the order from the print shop may take a few weeks. Once I receive the prints, I will fill orders as fast as possible. I will still be tattooing throughout the week, but I will do my best to work around that. Please be patient!
If you purchase a t-shirt and a print, they will ship together when the print(s) is/are ready.
There is an option to pay for your order using Afterpay, which breaks the cost into four interest-free payments.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Each piece will be signed (front), titled, and numbered (back) by hand and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The print edition number will be based on the number of prints in each run/how many have been sold.
FRAMING WILL BE AN OPTION:
Framing is being offered for each print. Having artwork framed can be costly, and I wanted to provide a low-cost way to have your artwork “wall-hang-ready” out of the box. Naturally, the larger frames will reflect a more significant shipping cost. Framing is expensive no matter how you handle it (unless you’re confident in framing it yourself). Either way, it’s worth it. Don’t tack it up on the wall like some hooligan (that’s a sin). The cost of bringing the art to a local framer or a place like Michaels may be more than what I’m charging, including the shipping cost, in the end. I just wanted to offer framing as a kind gesture!
I will be using black - IKEA - EDSBRUK frames. I hand-picked reasonably priced, quality frames to compliment the artwork. If you don’t want to pay shipping costs, these are great frames to purchase if you feel confident framing the work yourself. I want to note that the mat must be cut to size for each piece (that’s the tricky part). I will also custom-fit hooks and wires to each frame to ensure proper and reliable hanging on your wall to protect the frame and artwork.
At the bottom of this post is an example of a framed print.
SHIPPING:
I did my best to find solutions for keeping shipping costs low. However, there is only so much you can do when shipping art on a larger scale. Currently, I can ship prints and t-shirts worldwide. However, framed artwork is limited to shipping within the US.
If you order a t-shirt or wooden hand only, your order will be packaged and shipped out within one week of your order placement. You will receive a shipping confirmation on all orders (prints, framed prints, t-shirts, etc.) on the day they are shipped out.
Shipping insurance is included in shipping on prints and framed prints.
Tattoo clients only: email me if you’re interested in ordering anything from the store and would like to pick it up in the studio. You will receive a discount code, which will remove shipping costs. We can set up a pickup date from there, or I can hold your order until your next appointment.
RETURNS:
If, for any reason, you need to return your t-shirt (pre-ordered prints are non-refundable), a refund will be issued for the cost of the item (not including shipping costs). For exchanges, please email me directly at katie.white.artstudios@gmail.com. You will be responsible for the cost of the return shipping. The new-sized shirt will ship once the original shirt is received.
I am not responsible for damage to prints and frames sustained during shipping.
DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?
Please email me at katie.white.artstudios@gmail.com for any questions. Please keep in mind that I'm working throughout the week, but I will do my best to respond as soon as possible.
